In the 1930’s, Dr. Wilhelm Reich was able to detect etheric energy by using a modified Geiger counter and other instruments such as an electroscope. He named this etheric energy “Orgone”.  Dr. Reich was a renowned physicist, psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who once was a protégée and later assistant to Dr. Sigmund Freud at the University of Vienna.  His research and work as a Pyschoanalyst was highly regarded in the medical and academic communities of Europe.  Dr. Reich started the study of etheric energy when he was researching muscular contractions caused by stress in individuals.  During this research, he discovered a blue energy field surrounding living cells and an energy field of gray surrounding non-living cells when viewed under high magnification.  These fields of energy intrigued Dr. Reich to the point where he must find ways to detect the energy (Geiger counter) and to capture the energy fields.  After many attempts to capture the etheric energy that was detected with his instruments, Dr. Reich found that both metal (inorganic) and wool (organic) material would attract the energy with metal material causing the energy to be contained.  Once this discovery was uncovered, Dr. Reich experimented with the energy and found that all forms of life can benefit from the energy.  He constructed rectangular boxes (pictured at right – bottom) comprised of multi-layers of the metal/wool material to form an “accumulator” for the positive etheric energy.  All living organisms benefitted from being in the accumulator box including human participants.  Many ailments were reversed or became dormant after only a few sessions in the accumulator boxes. Dr. Reich concluded that the accumulator boxes were drawing all negative energy from living organisms while infusing positive etheric energy into the living organism. His inventions and discoveries with Orgone were highly successful in healing people, energizing water and food supplies, and even modifying meteorology!  He brought his large Orgone Cloud Buster machine (pictured at right – center) to the drought stricken desert outside of Tucson, AZ.  After only a few hours of infusing the atmosphere with positive etheric energy, clouds began to form with rain storms to follow. With such success, the world would surely appreciate this new discovery.

 

Unfortunately, the professional community did not recognize Dr. Reich’s discoveries as earth changing revelations.  The professional community made every effort possible to stifle and discredit Dr. Reich and the discovery of Orgone.  Campaigns to discredit Dr. Reich were not successful enough to stop the research and development of Orgone Accumulators, so the FDA summoned Dr. Reich to explain his claims in a court of law.  While trying to defend his discovery, the judge found Dr. Reich to be in contempt of his court and incarcerated Dr. Reich for a sentence of two years.  While incarcerated, Dr. Reich died of heart failure after only seven months in prison.  Circumstances of his death are not entirely clear causing much speculation as to the actual cause of death. Dr. Reich led a team of scientists which dispersed after the incarceration of Dr. Reich and the destruction of his laboratories.  These scientist did keep the discovery of Orgone alive in university experiments and under-ground laboratories.  Pioneers like Don and Carol Croft are spreading the word of Orgone energy This effort continues to the present.
